Pashmina Shawl Collection

Pashmina is the fleece of the Changthangi goat of Ladakh, combed out by hand each spring and spun on wooden wheels into a yarn far finer than a human hair. Every shawl here is hand spun and handwoven in the Kashmir valley, and the embroidered pieces are finished by needle over months.

The collection is small by design: plain handwoven shawls, a kani shawl whose pattern is woven into the cloth with small wooden bobbins, and the heirloom shawls, hand-embroidered in sozni stitch by artisans who spend two hundred to four hundred hours on a single piece. The same shawls are worn by men and women.
