OUR PROCESS
The Art of Handweaving
A Kashmir Bloom shawl begins with raw fibre. Heritage Pashmina starts with the down of the Changthangi goat, gathered by hand each spring as the animals shed their winter coat. Pure Cashmere begins with combed cashmere from the Mongolian steppes. Both are sorted, cleaned and prepared by hand.
From there the work becomes intimate. Hand-spinning on a wooden wheel. Hand-warping the loom. Weaving by hand, thread by thread. A border can take a month. A fully embroidered piece can take two years. We make it slowly because there is no other way to make it well.

Our Materials
We work with two fibres and we keep them honest. Heritage Pashmina is hand-spun and handwoven in the valley from Ladakh's Changthangi fleece. Pure Cashmere is woven on precision modern looms in the valley from cashmere combed in Mongolia and Inner Mongolia.
The material on the label is the material in your hand. We do not blend the two and call it pashmina. We do not call cashmere pashmina to lift its price. Each piece names its fibre and earns its name.
